2 days til Test Day

Some quick tips for preparing for Saturday’s SAT administration:

-Make sure you get plenty of rest tonight. The amount of sleep you get on Thursday effects your performance on Saturday more than the sleep you’ll get tomorrow night.

-Read the paper. Seek out articles about people making decisions or developing ideas–these can often be life-saving examples for your essay response.

-Remember that you’re not permitted to take you cell phone with you to the test center. They’ll force you to surrender it when you arrive, so unless you want your phone in a big grab bag of cells, you’ll want to leave it at home. However, you will want to bring a snack with you on Test Day, so make sure you’re on top of that.

-If you’ve been studying, briefly review those math concepts and grammar rules that have been most challenging for you. This is not the time to start working on learning new material; just focus on reinforcing what you know.

-Relax and bring your A Game. Since you’re likely a senior taking this weekend’s test, you may be feeling a little pressure to blow this test out of the water. However, remember that worse comes to worst, you can always take the test again in November or December.

-You can check out www.collegeboard.com for recommendations about testing as a Walk In if you forgot to register. Just know you’ll need to take money along to pay for the test that morning.
