I’ve been reading a good deal lately about rising fuel prices, new thoughts on the feasibility of globalization…. the whole nine yards. And yet, it has been these articles that have singled out a particular item that have put things in perspective most for me. I read the other day that folks in the Midwest can expect an avocado to cost as much as prime rib this January. The article below focuses on something more emphatically followed: melons in Japan.
